Pétanque in Turkmenistan

We independently re-fetched FIPJP's nation record directly (fipjp.org's own PDF) this cycle and it is unchanged from what the article already described - Arshavskiy Zinoviy still listed as president, with no newer record on file, though FIPJP's per-nation records are not dated and a years-old unchanged listing is not proof the federation remains active today. The federation's logo, visible on FIPJP's record, reads "Türkmenistanyň Milli Petank Sport Federasiýasy" - Turkmen for "Turkmenistan National Petanque Sport Federation" - confirming the federation is registered under its own national-language name domestically, not only in the French and English forms FIPJP uses internationally.

• 3rd Ashgabat Tissot Open (18 October 2017 report) - a Swiss-watchmaker-sponsored tournament held in Ashgabat, part of the country's 26th Independence Anniversary celebrations. Over 60 athletes across 20 teams competed, including nine teams from the domestic Club Petanque TKM, alongside teams from the French, Italian, and British embassies. Gold went to team "Syyahat" (Batyr Kadyrov, Oleg Osadchiy, Alexander Shumskiy, and Alevtina Goreva), silver to French company team "ELF," and bronze to team "MTS."
• Ashgabat Tissot Open 2018 (19 September 2018) - organized by the Embassy of France in Turkmenistan with sponsorship from Tissot, Russian company Vozrozhdenie, and Turkmen organization Biyat. 32 teams from 9 countries took part, including embassy teams from Russia, Britain, France, and the United States, plus a UNICEF team and two under-12 youth teams. This confirms the tournament continued at least one year past 2018, contrary to what this article previously stated. We could not, however, find any report confirming whether the Ashgabat Tissot Open continued past 2019, or any result, roster, or news coverage naming Turkmenistan as an actual participant at either the Phnom Penh or Hanoi 2019 championships - searches of English-language coverage of both events (including nation-by-nation reporting on the Hanoi field) did not mention Turkmenistan, so the federation's stated plan to send teams should not be read as confirmation that it did.

International Results

Turkmenistan's national pétanque team won a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Beach Games in Phuket, Thailand (14-23 November 2014), the country's first international pétanque result.
