Despite its French-sounding name, La Franc is actually a Thai manufacturer - made by Football Thai Factory Sporting Goods (FBT), FIPJP-approved since 1990. Its SB ("Soft Black") is the brand's flagship competition model: a very soft, nitrided matte black carbon steel boule that shooters in particular seek out for its dead, low-bounce feel on impact. It costs more than mainstream picks like the Obut Match, but for players who already know they lean toward shooting rather than pointing, it is a worthwhile step up.
