Pétanque in the Philippines

Petanque in the Philippines is governed by the Philippine Pétanque Clubs Association, a member of both the Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal (FIPJP) and the continental Asian Boules Sports Confederation (ABSC), also known as the Asian Pétanque and Sports Boules Confederation (APSBC). • 2025 SEA Games (Thailand): Held 10-15 December at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University in Pathum Thani, the Games saw the Philippines field 22 athletes (12 men, 10 women) across all 11 medal events - singles, doubles, and triples competition plus individual precision shooting, for both men and women. The team doubled its 2023 medal count, winning bronze in women's doubles (Cesiel Domenios and Ma. Corazon Soberre, the latter repeating her 2023 doubles bronze with a new partner) and bronze in men's doubles (Jhasfer Camingal and Harry Micutuan).

Training and Development

Ahead of the 2025 SEA Games, the national squad trained at the Lawn Bowls and Petanque National Training Center in Clark, Pampanga - in the same Clark area that hosted the sport's Philippine SEA Games debut back in 2005 - starting 1 July under Malaysian coach Zani Lisa Mohamed, the former head coach of Malaysia's national petanque squad, alongside Philippine national head coach Ambrocio Gontinas Jr. The team's improved 2025 showing against regional rivals such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia has been credited in part to that foreign coaching expertise and the dedicated training base.
