Sébastien Rousseau has been a constant presence at the Championnats de France for nearly two decades, with 21 appearances at the French National Championships since 2007. His clearest individual title came in 2012, when he won the Championnat de France Tête-à-Tête (the national head-to-head format) at Beaucaire, beating Jean "Moineau" Feltain in the final while playing out of a club in Val-de-Marne. The first came in 2024, when Rousseau, playing in the middle alongside Tyson Molinas and pointer Marc Tierno, led 9-8 late in the final before Philippe Quintais, Philippe Suchaud and Jean-Claude Jouffre turned the match around. Two years later, in 2026, Rousseau returned to the final with Patrick Laur and Sony Even, by way of an "incredible comeback" 13-12 semifinal win over a Décines team led by Yves Rakotoarisoa, the Malagasy who had won the 2025 edition with Madagascar, alongside Jean-François Daniel Rakotondrainibé and Franck Picq. Rousseau's 2026 season was not limited to Marseille. Days after the Marseillaise final, the same Laur-Rousseau pairing, this time completed by Jimmy Capeleaud, won the National de Valréas in Vaucluse, beating Stéphane Gasparini's team in the round of 16 (13-4), Rakotoarisoa's team in the quarterfinal (13-5), Henri Lacroix's team in a tight semifinal (13-12), and Théo Vaurs's team 13-6 in the final. The previous year, in August 2025, he won the National Doublette du Puy-en-Velay, partnering C. Sevilla to a 13-6 final win over F. Pailheret and R. Caray.
