Pétanque in Peru

Peru follows the same governance pattern already established in Italy, Croatia, and Chile: a single national federation covers several related boules disciplines under one roof, with pétanque as one organized branch alongside raffa volo. COPERU's own federation directory dates the FDPB's founding to 1965. A separate business-registry record has elsewhere been cited as listing the organization's activities as beginning in October 2002, which more likely reflects a later re-registration or reorganization of the federation than a contradiction of the 1965 founding date. Bardelli, speaking to the newspaper Jornada, described bochas as "a sport for everyone," inclusive across ages and abilities. In the federation's other discipline, raffa volo, Peru's mixed team took silver, with Sandro and Mariolina Saletti winning gold in the mixed pairs event - host-nation results that came as part of Peru's overall gold-medal-topping performance across all sports at the 2024 Bolivarian Games.

Looking ahead, a 2026 tournament calendar published by the Federación Mexicana de Petanca lists Peru as the planned host of a Pan American qualifying event for senior doubles in November 2026.
