Pétanque in Colombia

Colombia is one of the newest national federations recognized by the Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal (FIPJP), joining in 2025 as part of the sport's continued growth across the Pan America Confederation. The federation is based in Cali and, like several of the confederation's other recent additions, has so far left a limited public footprint beyond its FIPJP registration.

Colombia Petanque Federation

The federation appears in FIPJP's nation record as the Fédération Colombienne de Petanque (given in English there as the "Columbia Petanque Federation", with that spelling), and the record lists it as a member of the FIPJP since 2025. It is headquartered at Cl. 9 #37a1, Eucarístico, Cali, Colombia, and is led by president Gustavo Alonso Henao Chica. Colombia is one of the 14 member federations of the Pan America Petanque Confederation (PAPC), alongside Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Federation Contact

FIPJP's nation record lists two email addresses: colombie@fipjp.com for the federation's headquarters and corporacionsamadhi@hotmail.com for president Gustavo Alonso Henao Chica. It also gives a phone number, +57 313 704 2516, for the Cali headquarters. No independent federation website was found.

What We Could Not Verify

Beyond the FIPJP nation record, no clubs, registered players, domestic competitions, or ongoing 2026 activity could be independently confirmed. petanque-world.com lists Colombian city pages, such as one for Arauquita, but they show no registered clubs or players. Colombia did not enter the Pan-American qualifier for the 2026 World Championship, held in Iquique, Chile, from 5 to 7 November 2025. Eight teams took part (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and the United States), and the United States, the Dominican Republic and Argentina won the region's places at the 2026 World Championship in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Whether the federation has since built out a club network in Cali or elsewhere, and whether president Gustavo Alonso Henao Chica remains in post, could not be confirmed from available sources as of this writing.
