Pétanque in Colombia

Colombia is one of the newest national federations recognized by the Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal (FIPJP), joining in 2025 as part of the sport's continued growth across the Pan America Confederation. The federation is based in Cali and, like several of the confederation's other recent additions, has so far left a limited public footprint beyond its FIPJP registration.

Colombia Petanque Federation

The federation is registered with the FIPJP as the Colombia Petanque Federation (in French FIPJP records, the Fédération Colombienne de Pétanque), which became a member of the FIPJP in 2025, per FIPJP's own nation record. It is headquartered at Cl. 9 # 37a-1, Eucarístico, Cali, Colombia, and is led by president Gustavo Alonso Henao Chica. Colombia is one of the 14 member federations of the Pan America Petanque Confederation (PAPC), alongside Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, the United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

What We Could Not Verify

Beyond the FIPJP nation record, no clubs, registered players, domestic competitions, or ongoing 2026 activity could be independently confirmed. petanque-world.com lists Colombian city pages, such as one for Arauquita, but they show no registered clubs or players, and Colombia did not appear among the ten nations that competed at the Pan America Confederation's most recent men's triples World Championship qualifier (the Panamericano Clasificatorio de Petancas Iquique 2025, in Chile). Whether the federation has since built out a club network in Cali or elsewhere, and whether president Gustavo Alonso Henao Chica remains in post, could not be confirmed from available sources as of this writing.
